Associate Director of Development
Description:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Associate Director
of Development will be responsible for planning, implementing,
and evaluating current fundraising strategies and strengthening
and building the individual donor base. Within this newly
created position the Associate Director will identify,
cultivate, steward, acknowledge, and solicit individual and
corporate prospects and maintain a donor cultivation plan. This
position will identify funding agencies, write grant proposals,
and create all follow-up reports. S/he will collaborate with
volunteers on executing special events, assist the Executive
Director with representing the organization within the
community, collaborate with the Executive Director on board
communications, assist with PR activities including making
connections with county, state, and national legislators. The
Associate Director will be called upon to analyze various forms
of data to identify funders and position the organization to its
various constituencies.
Salary Range:
$40,000 - $47,000
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum two-years non-profit
experience. Background in public policy and/or knowledge of the
juvenile justice system preferred. The ideal candidate will be
an exceptional communicator and writer, have entrepreneurial
drive, and be an organized and strategic thinker. S/he must have
the ability to prioritize and balance multiple responsibilities
and tasks effectively and efficiently. S/he is a team player
with the ability to establish a presence in the community and
bring staff, volunteers and community leaders together to
maximize fundraising opportunities

9-25, from the foster care and juvenile justice systems.
Currently based in Culver City, its programs cultivate pride,
racial tolerance and social consciousness. The Unusual Suspects
has experienced tremendous growth in the past three years and is

continues to achieve its fundraising and programmatic goals.
