About the venue: Gold Diggers bar has become an East Hollywood hotspot hosting live performances and events by acts like Iceage, Nick Waterhouse, Sofi Tukker, Leon Bridges and more. Gold Diggers also encompasses a campus boasting more than three decades of Hollywood history behind the storied doors of what was once a decadent dive bar, including a boutique design hotel, and recording studio. Once a tavern and inn catering to motorists traveling Route 66; a film studio and rehearsal space for punk and rock bands, the soundstage space was also home to Ed Wood’s production studios in the ’50s (the original catwalks are still hanging). L.A. rock history surrounds the studio walls too where a Slayer-themed graffiti tag from the studio’s seedier era was purposefully left untouched in the renovation, and currently in the studio, one might see the likes of Sam Hollander, who wrote Fitz and the Tantrums’ smash hit “HandClap,” cutting tracks while Dave Trumfio, who has produced for Wilco and My Morning Jacket, oversees the main recording rooms.
Sorry, this one is 21 and older only.
