So Much to be Grateful for This Year!

Page Plays are Taking the Stage!

Page Plays are a celebration of our 10-week playwriting program, and so much more:

First, our youth playwrights lead the audience in warm-ups and games that they’ve learned in the program…

…next, we hear from the students about how they created their original play…

…and then, professional actors perform students’ original play with scripts in hand, followed by a post-show discussion!

Page Plays are youth storytelling at its besta FREE all-ages event not to be missed.

We’ve saved you a seat

Mentors Matter

Robert McMillan joined US as a S.T.A.R. mentor in January 2017.
After a year volunteering in our after-school programs, he shares…

“The experience will stay with me for my whole life. This semester it really warmed my heart to see the kids come together and build an ensemble.”

This month we are thrilled to welcome 3 new members to our Advisory Council: Sally Fairman, Markese Freeman, and Kirsten Vangsness. Each of them have had a powerful impact on US and we are grateful for their guidance as we continue to strengthen our work throughout Los Angeles.

The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company believes every young person deserves to be seen, heard and understood. Through collaborative workshops, we work deeply to empower the hardest to reach communities to tell their stories together leading to self-discovery, a sense of belonging, and the building of stronger families and communities.
