In my eyes
You’ll see tears that dried
The days I’ve cried
The years I’ve seen
In my eyes
You’ll see the lives I’ve lived
The soul I bear
And the times I tried to conceal
Myself
In my eyes
You’ll see my pain
I’ve had not much to gain
For my childlike heart has not been slain
In my eyes
Is where I lie
My body my house
As my body plays mouse
And darts through life

With utter eagerness and grace.

*excerpt from “The Secrets We Don’t Know” written by the young women incarcerated at The Dorothy Kirby Center, Spring 2018

On September 8th, the young playwrights will perform their original play, “The Secrets We Don’t Know.” alongside their male peers as members of the very first co-ed after-school program at Dorothy Kirby Center.

We are able to bring in a public audience for this special performance and hope you can join US!

Because we will be at an LA County Juvenile Probation Facility, RSVP is required to attend. For details, please email meisha@theunusualsuspects.org.
