Camp David Gonzales Performance of “Reflection: The Rico Story”

August 26, 2017

The talented Unusual Suspects minors at Camp David Gonzales have written an original play that they will perform on Friday, August 25th and Saturday, August 26th!

In an exciting partnership with LA County Probation Camp David Gonzales, The Unusual Suspects are leading a 10-week performance workshop in which incarcerated youth are working together to perform an original play that they wrote earlier this spring.

Their play, “Reflection: The Rico Story” follows RICO, who grew up in a tough neighborhood with his mother, THERESA who was raising three children on her own.  With a baby on the way and his family struggling through a difficult time to make ends meet, RICO takes it unto to himself to make money in whatever way possible to support his loved ones.  Although he begins doing honest work, it isn’t enough. Along with the help of his trusted friend GOOFY, RICO becomes lost in a world of theft and trafficking; forgetting about his family altogether.
